Preetam studied the Bar Practice Course at The University of Law in Birmingham, having previously obtained his LLB from Queen Mary University of London. He joined Witan Solicitors in January 2026 as a Litigation Executive, based in the firm’s Birmingham office. Preetam is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple and brings to the role substantial advocacy training, dispute resolution experience and exposure to the Business and Property Courts.
Born in the West Midlands and having studied for three years in London, Preetam has natural exposure to both the Midlands and South Eastern Circuits. Outside the office, he is a long-standing martial artist, having practised Gracie Jiu Jitsu for nine years and currently holding a blue belt, stripe two.

Litigation Executive
Preetam is a Litigation Executive at Witan Solicitors. He joined the firm in January 2026 and specialises in civil and commercial litigation, with a particular interest in construction disputes, property litigation and matters before the Business and Property Courts.
Preetam joined Witan Solicitors in January 2026 having developed a strong foundation in litigation drafting, the application of the Civil Procedure Rules and advocacy through his studies on the Bar Practice Course at The University of Law, Birmingham. During his BPC studies he was awarded the Senior Advocacy Scholarship 2024/25, sitting as a Senior Scholar on the Advocacy Committee, and was a finalist in the Sir Mota Singh Moot, held at the UK Supreme Court. He is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
In commercial and contractual disputes, Preetam recently secured full recovery for a corporate client at pre-action stage in a breach of contract claim against an insurance broker. The matter was settled in full including legal costs in excess of £15,000 following service of a Letter of Claim, and the client has since instructed the firm on further contractual matters. The result reflects Preetam’s belief that a well-prepared pre-action strategy can often resolve disputes commercially and without the need for proceedings.
Preetam is developing a particular interest in construction litigation, including disputes arising under JCT contracts, where he advises clients on payment disputes, defects, delay and termination issues, and the procedural pathways available through adjudication and the Technology and Construction Court. He is also building a property litigation practice, acting in commercial and residential property disputes, and engages regularly with matters before the Business and Property Courts where his BPC training and Civil Procedure Rules knowledge are directly applicable.
Beyond his casework, Preetam holds the position of Secretary for Sikhs in Law and Registrar for the Sikh Court, where he specialises in alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration a role that complements his litigation practice and underscores his commitment to resolving disputes efficiently and proportionately. He has also undertaken extensive judicial marshalling at the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber), the First-tier Tribunal at Taylor House and the Employment Tribunal, and has completed mini-pupillages at 4PB, 36 Group and St Andrew’s Hill giving him exposure to family, civil and criminal practice from the perspective of the Bar.
During his Master’s studies, Preetam used the CourtNav injunction system to assist clients with non-molestation orders and PIP appeals, and volunteered with the FLOWS triage phone line, supporting victims of domestic abuse. This pro bono experience underpins the empathy he brings to client-facing work.

He focuses on understanding what matters most to the client and on resolving disputes wherever possible efficiently, commercially and without unnecessary cost.
