Meet Iqra Hussain
Junior Litigation Executive
Iqra is a Junior Litigation Executive at Witan Solicitors. She joined the firm in January 2026 in the Birmingham office, having first undertaken work experience with the firm in December 2025.
Iqra holds a 2:1 BA in Philosophy and an LLB for Graduates, both from the University of Birmingham. Her dual background in philosophy and law gives her a particular strength in critical thinking, careful argument and close reading qualities that translate naturally into litigation support work.
In her role as Junior Litigation Executive, Iqra supports fee-earners across the firm with the day-to-day administration of their cases. This includes assisting with the preparation of court documents and bundles, managing case files and correspondence, liaising with clients and third parties, and ensuring matters progress in line with relevant deadlines and the Civil Procedure Rules. Her work spans the full range of the firm’s contentious practice, giving her early exposure to commercial, property, family and insolvency disputes alongside more senior fee-earners.
Iqra also has principal responsibility for the firm’s own debt recovery matters, where she manages the process from initial demand through to the issue of proceedings and enforcement where required. The role calls for organisation, attention to detail and tact in client communication and gives Iqra valuable hands-on experience of the procedural pathways available to creditors seeking recovery.
Alongside her work at Witan, Iqra has continued to develop her practical legal skills through a range of pro bono and extra-curricular experience. She volunteered with the Birmingham Free Legal Advice Group during her LLB, where she conducted client interviews, gathered evidence and drafted letters of advice, and she completed a two-day judicial marshalling placement at Birmingham Crown Court. She has also participated in vacation schemes with Legal Cheek and Birmingham Law Society. These experiences underpin the practical, client-focused approach she brings to her work at Witan.
Iqra is committed to delivering reliable, accurate and timely support to the fee-earners she works with, and to building the broader skills base that will allow her to take on more substantive litigation work over time. She combines a genuinely curious mind with the discipline and organisation that effective litigation support demands.
