A Birmingham law firm has described celebrating its 10th anniversary as a ‘significant milestone’.
Previously known as Cato Solicitors until 2022, Witan Solicitors has evolved under the guidance of its founders and current leaders.
Witan obtained official approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for its business operations in early 2014. At that time, it had started trading with only one Solicitor, Mr John Cato who started his legal career in Lincoln's Inn in 1986.
After gaining experience in different firms, he launched Cato Solicitors as a one-person operation in Northamptonshire in 2003. The firm quickly gained a reputation for quality service until 2009 when it paused.
In 2013, John restarted the firm, building on his success as a Commercial Litigator in London and the East Midlands.
Qarrar Somji, the current Director and owner of Witan embodies the firm's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering leadership. Beginning his journey under the mentorship of John in 2011, Qarrar's dedication and passion for the law became clear.
In the years following, Qarrar held diverse roles in commercial litigation across Northamptonshire and Birmingham. These experiences not only enriched his understanding of the legal landscape but also equipped him with invaluable insights into serving clients effectively.
Today, as the driving force behind Witan Solicitors, Qarrar continues to lead with integrity, vision, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of legal innovation and client advocacy.
Under Qarrar's leadership, Witan Solicitors has thrived, doubling its revenue and staff numbers. In 2019, Qarrar was recognised by the Legal 500 as one of the top lawyers in the UK, highlighting the firm's dedication to excellence.
