How We Can Resolve Employment Disputes

Our sensitive and timely approach prevents disputes from escalating. Our employment law solicitors for employers can resolve workplace disputes through:

  • Settlement agreements – These are legally binding contracts that are used to end employment relationships on agreed terms or resolve an ongoing dispute without terminating the employment relationship. Our specialist solicitors can help you negotiate a favourable settlement agreement to prevent employees from pursuing compensation
  • ACAS early conciliation – This provides a safe environment for employers and employees to present their case and resolve the matter amicably
  • Employment Tribunal claims – We have a strong record of success in representing employers at Employment Tribunals and will ensure that all documentation and procedures are fully compliant to reduce the risk of litigation

It is a priority to us to make information regarding your case accessible to you and we take the time to explain all the processes in a way that is understandable to someone outside of the legal profession. Explaining things as they are, with as little legal jargon as possible, guarantees that you will have a clear picture of what is happening and that you will feel in control.

Speedy and Efficient Proceedings

We approach every case with the idea to achieve the best solution as quickly and as painlessly as possible. We always strive to secure a favourable outcome for you through negotiation and mediation, so you won’t have to face lengthy employment tribunal proceedings. If your case has to go to Tribunal, we are prepared to defend your business and fight for an optimal solution that satisfies you.

Employee Contracts, Handbooks & Policies

We can help you draft legally compliant contracts of employment for new employees, as well as contact reviews for existing employees. Our employment law specialists can also ensure that your employee handbook is well-constructed and comprehensive, as well as compliant with all legal requirements.

Dealing with Redundancy

Dealing with employee redundancy has become a serious problem that thousands of businesses across the UK have to face. With our expert advice, you can ensure that your redundancy procedure is fair and lawful, avoiding unfair dismissal claims.

Find out more about our redundancy consultation guide as explained by our legal experts.

Resolving Discrimination Claims

A discrimination claim is a sensitive issue that can cause irreparable damage to the reputation of any business. Therefore, we handle such cases with extreme care and we employ our decades of experience to prevent the issue from escalating any further including PR management where appropriate.

Disciplinary Actions, Grievances and Dismissal

Before you take disciplinary action or proceed with dismissing an employee, it is important to get legal advice first. We can give you information so you have a good understanding of the legal process which must be followed. Failure to comply with the legal requirements in such cases can lead to employee claims that can later be escalated to ACAS and ultimately an employment tribunal.

Handling Tribunal Claims

If you are facing a tribunal claim by an employee, such as unfair dismissal or discrimination claims, quick and efficient action is paramount. Our employment law solicitors in Birmingham, Northampton and London will analyse your case and will act as mediators in an attempt to resolve the issue before it is taken to a tribunal. In case a mutually beneficial resolution is not reached at this stage, our team will defend your business at the employment tribunal.

If you are concerned about an ex-employee unlawfully stealing your business prospects or information, then you may have a breach of restrictive covenant or misuse of confidential information.
