Meet Amna Sharif

Litigation Executive, Birmingham

Amna Sharif is a Litigation Executive at Witan Solicitors, based in the firm’s Birmingham office. She helps businesses and individuals resolve commercial and civil disputes across England and Wales, with a particular focus on contentious probate, breach of contract and company disputes.

Amna joined Witan Solicitors in June 2026, bringing two years’ experience as a dispute resolution paralegal at a leading national law firm, where she worked closely with a partner specialising in commercial litigation. Her work there included drafting statements of case and witness statements, preparing Part 36 and Calderbank settlement offers, assisting counsel and solicitor-advocates with trial preparation, and representing clients at small claims trials and hearings in the County Court. Before that, she carried out large-scale disclosure and privilege reviews as a locum paralegal at an international law firm.

Amna graduated with a 2:1 in her LLB (Hons) from the University of Southampton in 2022 and completed the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law in 2023, achieving a grade of Very Competent; she was subsequently called to the Bar. Having chosen to build her career in litigation at a solicitors’ practice, Amna does not practise as a barrister she applies her advocacy training in her role as a Litigation Executive and is working towards qualification as a solicitor. Her training is complemented by a mini-pupillage at 3 Raymond Buildings, where she observed proceedings ranging from the magistrates’ courts to trials at the Old Bailey, and by marshalling for a High Court judge at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

Commercial and civil disputes

On the commercial side, Amna supports the team on breach of contract claims and on disputes involving companies, shareholders and directors, assisting at every stage from pre-action correspondence and settlement negotiations through to disclosure, witness evidence and trial preparation.

Contentious probate and inheritance disputes

In contentious probate matters, Amna assists clients with claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and with disputes arising out of the administration of estates, including disagreements between executors and beneficiaries. She appreciates that inheritance disputes usually arise at an emotionally difficult time, and she pairs clear, pragmatic advice with a patient and sensitive manner guiding clients through what can be complex and highly personal disputes.

She keeps clients informed at every stage so they understand their position, their options and the likely costs and takes a commercially focused approach that weighs the practical realities of litigation alongside the legal merits.

Beyond work

Outside work, Amna is a keen reader particularly science fiction and fantasy and enjoys travelling. She is fluent in English and Urdu and is happy to assist clients who prefer to communicate in Urdu.
