Mason holds an LLM in Law in Practice (Distinction) and an LLB in Law with Criminal Justice (Second Class Honours), both from Birmingham City University. He is currently studying towards qualification as a solicitor through the SQE and is a member of Birmingham Law Society.

Mason’s practice at Witan focuses on civil and commercial litigation, with a particular interest in landlord and tenant disputes, commercial leases and enforcement proceedings. He has wider experience across commercial litigation, civil disputes and immigration matters, drawn both from his work at the firm and from substantial pro bono practice during his studies.

Before joining Witan Solicitors, Mason volunteered with Support Through Court, where he assisted members of the public navigating the court system as a pro bono advocate work that gave him direct exposure to litigants in person and to a wide range of civil disputes. He went on to volunteer with Central England Law Centre, where he gained experience drafting and submitting legal forms in support of vulnerable clients, including applications that helped clients secure British citizenship, avoid homelessness, and prepare for civil proceedings. This grounding has shaped the diligent, empathetic and detail-focused approach he brings to his work at Witan.

In landlord and tenant matters, Mason advises both landlords and tenants on disputes arising from residential and commercial tenancies, including possession proceedings, breach of covenant, dilapidations and the recovery of unpaid rent. In commercial leases, he assists clients with disputes arising during the lifecycle of a lease from interpretation and forfeiture through to renewal and termination. He is also developing experience in enforcement proceedings, supporting clients in recovering judgment debts and ensuring that successful claims translate into tangible outcomes.

Mason adopts a commercially aware approach to litigation, recognising that the rationale behind a client’s instruction matters as much as the legal merits. He places a strong emphasis on clear, honest communication, transparent timelines and keeping clients informed throughout the progression of their matter. He is proactive, organised and able to pivot quickly when matters demand it, while maintaining the calm, client-first manner that characterises his work.

Mason is committed to building trust with the clients he works with through prompt, accurate and straightforward communication and to contributing to the firm’s wider litigation practice as he progresses towards qualification.
